Australia, the land of Kangaroos, Koala’s, shrimp on the barbie and Mad Max is trying another gun grab.
You’ll remember that back in the late nineties, Australia endured one of the largest gun massacres in modern history. Following that massacre, Australia all but eliminated private gun ownership. Australia does not have our wonderful second amendment – no constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Nonetheless, the government decided that it would be best to take away all guns forever and ever. Consequently, violent crime went up. Predictable.
There are some limitations to the gun grab, however, and some members of the public have been able to acquire some firearms, most notably a 12-gauge lever action shotgun from Adler Arms. Seven round and four round capacities have been made available, and Australians have acquired roughly 7500. Lever action shotguns have fewer restrictions than pump action, and have notably fewer instances of misuse or illegal use.
Despite this, liberals in Australia have used largely emotional pleas to try and restrict – if not confiscate entirely – these shotguns. It is part of a larger move to eliminate the use and possession of guns altogether in Australia.
This is the future if the U.S. continues to elect officials like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, who both favor an Australia type confiscation. They want disarmament. They want to try and control every aspect of your life, including limiting your ability to protect yourself.
Australia is evidence enough that the gun control nuts will never stop. They don’t want to limit guns; they don’t even want you to hunt with guns. They hate guns, and they don’t like people who like guns. It’s that simple. It’s about power; it’s about control.
The best way to stop gun violence in America isn’t to follow in Australia’s footsteps: it’s to go out and buy yourself a gun!
